Café Janis
As I entered Cafe Janis, the feeling I had was as if I were in another city, in another vibe.
The cool decoration, with French posters that complement each other with the purifying presence of the various plants spread throughout the Janis, makes this café one of the most original spaces in Lisbon to have a coffee, dinner, or try brunch on a sunny day.
With the visual aspect clearly victorious, Café Janis does not leave behind the most important, the quality of the food. With several vegetarian dishes that have a lot of prominence, the menu is comprehensive enough to please any customer looking for a lighter meal such as salads and toasts but also those who want a fuller and bolder meal such as calamari or meatballs.
The brunch is also very sought after, both by tourists and by Lisboners, who take advantage of the esplanade to catch some sun or are amazed by the cozy decoration inside.
My experience at Café Janis was quite good. I really liked the taste and texture of the meal, which included perfect scrambled eggs, mushrooms with pepper, grilled halloumi, roasted tomatoes, and spinach and toast. My girlfriend tried soft egg in creamy yogurt with zaatar, mixed with marinated artichokes, crushed avocado with mint, and toasted focaccia. If it sounds good, imagine how good it tasted.
Here you can spend a very relaxed afternoon in one of the coolest areas in Lisbon.
