The 1975 – Notes On A Conditional Form

𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 | The Manchester quartet has been quite busy in the last years. This Notes on a Conditional Form should have arrived mere months after 2018’s A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships. Maybe it was the necessity to keep going or to evolve or to have something to say but Matty Healy and Co are the most versatile pop-rock band in the world, jumping from musical styles like no other without missing a beat. Well, maybe in some weird chaotic way that can be felt in this latest album. It’s part pop, rock, lo-fi garage dance, dancehall, symphony peace. It’s all over the place without a structure. In some ways, it can be a reflection of our days. The album has some great songs, others not so great and the lyrics vary from corny to the extreme narrative complexion. I’m still just enjoying the album, without trying to decipher everything in it. I guess that’s one way to go by.

Quarantine concerts | Branko - Live in Lisbon (2020)

28.05.20 | Sounds & Flavours

We've been cooped up at home for over two months. From one moment to the next, life seemed to stop and we had to deal with a harsh reality that forced us to change behaviors, emotions, and even ways of seeing life.

So when we were released it was as if we could breathe again. We went back to see the people we love, the city that welcomes us, the culture we are part of.

It was with this feeling that Branko gave us energy with an amazing DJ set, focused on the city of Lisbon, on a rooftop between the Estrela Basilica and the Tagus River.

It's 42 minutes of musical freedom that we haven't felt since February.

"After two months of using my living room as a stage it was amazing to finally be able to go out again, with the proper precautions, to perform in the streets of the city that has always been my greatest source of inspiration. This declaration of love comes at a time when, due to the months of confinement we just went through, I have a computer full of new music ready to be shared over the next few weeks," explained Branko.

Enjoy!

Food to take to the beach

The sun is shining, the weather is hot and the waves are crashing on the sand! With a lot of precautions, it’s time to go to the beach! With the pandemic still present in our lives, it is very important to have the security of where we are going to sunbathe and what to eat. Instead of going to restaurants, it is easier, safer, and cheaper to bring homemade food so here are some ideal snacks for a sunny day.

Mydomaine  has the ideal list of easy to make dishes, other than the usual salads and fruit. My favorites are greek pasta salad and oven-fried chicken.

Rødhåd - MOOD

15.05.20 | Sounds & Flavours

Rodhad-featured.jpg

𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 | Comprised of his own solo archival material from 2017/18, MOOD is Rødhåd’s first ambient experimentalist release, showcasing a new musical side from the German DJ. Across 18 tracks, Rødhåd crafts emotive textures through detailed layering of ethereal pads and simple synth melodies, aiming to reflect his meditative sensibilities. The cool thing is that the album can be download right now and it will be available in vinyl on July 10th.

Home delivery food apps

Food apps are becoming an essential part of our everyday life. Whether we’re looking for new and tasty recipes or the ability to order food without leaving home or even booking a table at a restaurant, there’s no denying that technology is now an intricate part of the food industry.

Below are some awesome apps that I use constantly and I believe every foodie must have on their phone.

CookerPan - Launched during the Covid-19 pandemic, in this app amateur chefs are the ones who cook the dishes that end up on your table. The aim of the project is to help these users to sell their dishes, but also to make them available to all those who are looking for new gastronomic experiences and like to eat homemade meals. It's a great way to support cooks who can't work during this pandemic. Deliveries can be made by the cooks themselves or by customers who come directly to your home.

Brunchhh - A brunch without leaving the house? Why not? This is the concept behind Brunchhh. The app brings together some of Lisbon's finest restaurants that serve brunch. You can book the meal, leave comments, give star ratings, and have access to all schedules and information. The goal is to reach more cities during the coming months.

UberEats - Is probably the best known and most used app. With over 200 restaurants and operating nationwide, UberEats stands out for its ease of use and an enormous variety of choices. It has constant discounts like 2x1 or meals without a fixed delivery fee. Available for iOs or Android.

Glovo - It's very simple: you choose the restaurant, the courier picks up your order and delivers it where you tell him. Besides food, you can basically ask to drop (almost) everything you need. The delivery rate is around 1.90 euros on average, but it depends on the order and the distance to go and pay by credit card or through an online payment website.

Sendeat - This home delivery service has three hundred restaurants and a team of over two hundred couriers. The deliveries are available for some parts of Lisbon, Porto, Matosinhos, Gaia, Braga, and Aveiro. After ordering and payment on the website, you can follow the progress of the delivery.

Comer em casa - Like its competitors, Comer em Casa works through a partnership with the restaurants you have on your list. Just order and wait "at most 60min" for the food to arrive at your table.

Thom Yorke – Plasticine Figures

𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 | Behind a piano with his characteristic voice, Thom Yorke went to The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to debut his latest song, "Plasticine Figures". A kind of lullaby, this music is a reflection of the times we live in: sometimes difficult and sometimes melancholic but always with an open perspective of what the future may bring us.
